Accuracy

Degree to which the result of a volumetric flow in a syringe pump conforms to the correct value or a standard

The amount by which a single measurement differs from a fixed value such as the mean

Linear Force

Is a one-dimensional pushing force supplied by the pushing block. Linear force is reduced by syringe seals, viscosity of fluid and general maintenance of the pump.

Mode

Chemyx Pump Movement Modes:

Infuse – positive displacement of fluid

infuse/withdrawal – positive or negative displacement of fluids

cycle – push/pull reciprocating movement to allow for continuous flow

Minimum Flow Rate

Is the minimum amount of fluid that flows in a given time

Maximum Flow Rate

Is the maximum amount of fluid that flows in a given time

Motor Drive

A mechanical system that includes an electric motor and drives a machine – Chemyx uses Stepper Motors as the primary drive mechanism due to the accuracy of precision of control

Micro-stepping

Is a method of moving the stator plug of the stepper motor more smoothly than it is in the full or half step drive mode

Non-condensing

When operating Chemyx products it is important that there is no change from vapor to liquid. If this occurs shut off the pump and un-power the product until dry.

Operating Temperature

The Chemyx portable syringe pump will operate effectively within a specified temperature range which varies based on the device function and application context and ranges from the minimum operating temperature to the maximum operating temperature

Reproducibility

Is the ability of an entire analysis of an experiment or study to be duplicated, either by the same researcher or by someone else working independently, whereas reproducing an experiment is called replicating it.

RS232 Port

Is one of many methods of connecting a Chemyx portable syringe pump to a computer

Is an organization’s adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines, and specifications relevant to its business

Syringe Size

Is the maximum or minimum syringe that is allowed to be used with a Chemyx syringe pump

Syringe

A tube with a nozzle and piston or bulb for sucking in and ejecting liquid in a thin stream

Stepper Motor

Is a brushless DC electric motor that divides a full rotation into a number of equal steps

Step Resolution

Is the distance the pushing/pulling block moves per micro-step of the stepper motor. This is considered the “sensitivity parameter” of a portable syringe pump.

Storage Temperature

Refers to the temperature at which the device can be safely stored when the device is not powered
