How To Fix A Leaking Chemyx Stainless Steel Syringe

Chemyx stainless steel syringes are used for high-pressure applications using the Fusion 6000 syringe pump and other Chemyx syringe pumps. Unfortunately, sometimes you may come across a leaking syringe during the experiment. Addressing leaks promptly is crucial for maintaining experiment integrity and lab safety. Learn how to fix a leaking syringe depending on the problem.

If the leaking came from the fitting, fix it using the following steps:

  1. Use a wrench to loosen and take off the fitting.
  2. Use a thin Teflon film to wrap the thread of the fitting.
  3. Put the fitting back to the syringe and use the wrench to tighten it.

If the leaking came from the inside of the stainless steel syringe, do the following steps:

  1. Pull the plunger out of the syringe body.
  2. Replace the o-rings at the syringe plunger. There are two o-rings in each syringe. You can find the o-ring pack for each syringe size from Chemyx online store.
  3. Push the plunger back to the stainless steel syringe.
